Covid19 is here to stay forever. There will always be infected people. It will be more of a problem in poorer countries like TT. Why?

There is no method for exterminating the virus. Is is not self-limiting. It infects people of all ages. There are no cures for virus-caused diseases. There are only treatments for the symptoms.

THE EDITOR: Change is one of the few universal truths. It is the greatest oxymoron of our existence, that is: change is constant. Change, when embraced at a personal level, can leave one feeling renewed, refocused and sometimes downright shocked that it could have been done at all.

However, sociocultural change is not always so forthcoming and can be the most tedious process in some societies. Attached to change (at a societal level) there’s the expected: inertia, reluctance, confusion and of course (in some cases) downright aggressive resistance.

Progressive Democratic Patriots (PDP) deputy political leader Farley Augustine wants Tobago's healthcare workers, particularly those on the frontline of the covid19 pandemic, to be paid their outstanding money.

He also reiterated the party's call for a special insurance to be implemented for workers on the frontline. The TT Nursing Association also supports this call.

A HIGH Court judge has reversed a 2019 decision of the Deposit Insurance Corporation (DIC), liquidator for Clico Investment Bank (CIB), to admit a debt of eight million € claimed by French-based international winery, Marie Brizard Wine and Spirits. NATIONAL Security Minister Stuart Young is making good on his promise to allow the return dozens of oil and gas workers stranded in Suriname since TT’s borders were closed in March.

On Monday, Young wrote to attorneys for some of the men, asking for confirmation how many need his permission to return, and any proposed travel details, before he can give final approval.
